Customer Review: No need for power, relies on the lever principle

This is an elegant yet functional, classic design which adds to rather than detracts from the appearance of a kitchen. Heavy, sturdy metal with a few hard plastic parts, built to endure the ages. I have been very pleased with it, though I will note it is best suited for oranges and smaller. Small grapefruits certainly will work fine, but larger grapefruit or pomello may require extra care to ensure that the edges of the fruit are tucked in.
I strongly suggest buying a new one rather than anything off Ebay, where you can easily be ripped off and have no recourse but to accept a substantial loss, which is all too often the case on Ebay. My case is instructive. I purchased a juicer similar to this one for $50 on Ebay, thinking I would save money. The auction claimed it was in perfect condition and worked fine. What I got was a juicer with a damaged thread that did not work. I shipped the thing back, but did not receive any refund.
To Paypal's credit, they ruled in my favor a month after I filed a claim, and I am due a refund, unless the Seller absconds, forfeiting their account. Not a remote possibility, given his general character as revealed so far. The seller has been selling lower priced items like mad, though I have noticed that my formerly solitary negative now has company, and that he is treating others as he treated me.
My next step was to buy this juicer from Amazon, and what can I say? The shipping was fast, and of course the juicer was new and perfect.
Don't try to save money by visiting RipOff Central (Ebay). As far as I'm concerned, this place is the ONLY place online. Yes, the price is somewhat high, but isn't it refreshing to deal with people of honor who you can trust?

Collector cup is pivoted to swing out for easy, mess-free removal. Enamel finish, chrome and porcelain components are acid-resistant for easy cleaning. Strainer cone and funnel are also removable.The brilliantly simple design of the Hamilton Beach commercial manual citrus juicer is as classic-looking as it is effective. Created with rack-and-pinion gearing that allows you to exert up to 2,000 pounds of pressure with very moderate work, the unit extracts maximum amounts of juice from oranges, grapefruits, lemons, and limes. Pith, pulp, peel, and oil are left behind in the strainer cone, which is removable for easy cleanup. Between juicings, the juicer's handle stays in the "up" position, which makes it easy to quickly add more fruit. A swing-out drip cup at the bottom is adequate for small citrus fruits; it also swivels to the side to make way for glasses up to 5-1/2 inches high and swings back into place to collect drips. Designed for rugged use, the juicer has a heavy-duty metal construction with acid-resistant chrome and enamel finishes.
