Okay, first off, if you don't own a food processor, get one. It will save you a ton of time and a boatload of money in the long run. I save over $50 a month (that's over $600 a year) by processing things like shredded carrots and cheeses in my home. I make my own spaghetti sauce (a complete breeze) and enjoy many fresh fruits and veggies easier because of this baby. And speaking of babies, I can't tell you how much money I saved on not buying baby food but making my own at home. A tip for Mommies - get an ice cube tray and fill it with your baby's food leftovers you've made for the day. Freeze them and then dump into a plastic bag labeled with food name and date prepared. You'll have baby food instantly by popping a cube in the microwave for 20 seconds. Smartest thing I ever did. Also very portable. No worries about 1/2 eaten jars I couldn't refrigerate. I'd just pop another cube out!
Now, onto the machine. It works AMAZINGLY well. It's dishwasher safe (a must with a 2 year old son) and has never had a problem with anything I've put it through over the last two years. It's created everything from shredded broccoli (raw) to pulled pork to chopping WHOLE nuts into a finely chopped (think chunky coffee grounds) mixture for a family bread recipe. I use it almost daily and have never had a problem with it overheating or not being up to any task it was assigned for the day.
For the price, it was certainly worth what I've put it through. I never expected a machine at this price to perform as well and as long as this one has.

It also features in-bowl blade storage. Keep items fresher with the bonus chill lid.With a 350-watt motor and a 7-cup bowl, this inexpensive tool puts a family-size food-processor's versatility and ease into a cook's hands at a bargain price. The processor's S-shaped stainless-steel blade kneads bread dough and chops and minces a variety of foods, from nuts to meat to cheese to vegetables and fruits. The reversible stainless-steel disc blade slices and shreds fruits and vegetables, and, with two speeds to choose from and a pulse control, the processor offers classic flexibility for fine work. Beginners will appreciate the control panel's chart, which lists the appropriate blades and speeds for specific tasks.
