The crock insert in my pot developed a long crack that went all the way across and through the bottom. I did a little Internet research and found that MANY other people had had the same problem. When I called the company, Hamilton Beach's customer service was not only unhelpful, they were downright hostile and were completely unconcerned about this possible safety issue.Customer Review: This crock is cracked!

I guess this particular crockpot is defective, but that still doesn't make us feel better about our food being ruined. We put the food in for 9 hours on low, I checked it and it looked perfect. I put it on warm (and watched it beep and say "warm"), and went to bed. When we woke up, it said it was on HIGH and everything was burnt and ruined. So disappointing. It has done this before, but we just thought the button was accidentally hit (and our food was actually perfect that time), so we ignored the situation. But aside from this terrible problem, we have been happy with everything else!Customer Review: Died after 1 use

This worked great on the first use. On the second use, the display seemed to work fine but the heating element never got hot. So... I'm now simmering my soup in a pot on the stove. I don't know if I can find my receipt from Best Buy, because I tossed it after the first use, thinking it worked fine. I tried their customer service number and I keep getting a recorded message saying my call cannot go through.Customer Review: Slow and easy cooker
