After exhaustive days of running around the city of Baltimore, looking for an appliance that used to be common years ago, it took me only a few minutes with Amazon dot com to find the one and only company that makes a sandwich grill with a flat grilling surface, The "Hamilton Model 26290". All of the other companies have, what they call a sandwich maker, but none are flat surfaced.If I want pocket style sandwiches ALL of the time, The grills are easy to find. Horaay for Hamilton Beach Corp. for making an excellent product and one that is still needed.

If you're heading off to college, renting a small studio space, remodeling a kitchen, or just love waffles or grilled cheese, the Meal Maker Belgian waffle baker and sandwich griddle is a great stand-in for a full stovetop. This sandwich toaster not only makes fancy panini-style grilled sandwiches in minutes, but also batter-based items, such as pancakes or omelets, as well as turnovers or French toast. What's more, by switching the grill plates, the appliance becomes a waffle iron, providing even more meal options. The Meal Maker's indicator light turns off when it's ready to cook, and, once a sandwich or batter has been put onto the plates, the cover latches shut to keep batter in place or sandwich edges crimped. The nonstick grilling surfaces wipe clean with a damp sponge or paper towel, or they can be removed and washed by hand or in the dishwasher.
