So we bought this to take on camping trips to make french pressed coffee (where there's power of course). It gets hot quick but BEWARE! The outside of the stainless steel carafe gets as hot as the water inside. One would assume a double walled construction but NO IT'S NOT. If you have kids or elderly folks around do not purchase this item!
